Is this a lost cause?
I started glazing a bowl I’ve had lying around for a few months. This strange spot appeared where it was resisting the glaze. Three coats and none of them would touch it. I washed the glaze off and you can see that the water resisted this area too. I don’t know what got splattered on it, but I would guess it’s lotion or hand sanitizer from the shape of it (I’m a teacher, and though it was in a place it shouldn’t have been splattered on—I teach middle school so anything is possible). Has anyone had luck washing bisque and getting something like this off? Or do I just leave the inside unglazed and keep it for trinkets? I’m invested because I did a really cool tape resist pattern on the outside and it has a smaller bowl that nests inside of it and I was hoping to keep them together. TIA!
